Glossary: PIX, DePix and Liquid Network
Definitions of core terms in the FlipDepix ecosystem — non-custodial PIX ↔ DePix gateway on the Liquid Network.
- DePix
- Stablecoin pegged 1:1 to the Brazilian Real (BRL), issued on the Liquid Network. Received via PIX through FlipDepix.
- Liquid Network
- Bitcoin federated sidechain with fast settlement and Confidential Transactions support. DePix operates on this network.
- PIX
- Brazil's instant payment system (BRL). FlipDepix generates PIX charges that settle as DePix on-chain.
- Confidential Transactions (CT)
- Liquid feature that hides transferred amounts on-chain from external observers.
- DePix gateway
- Infrastructure connecting PIX payments to the DePix/Liquid ecosystem. FlipDepix is a non-custodial gateway.
- Liquid wallet
- Wallet compatible with Liquid Network (lq1… address). DePix is sent directly to the registered wallet.
- Non-custodial
- FlipDepix never holds user DePix. Funds go directly to the Liquid wallet you control.
- Webhook
- Async HTTP notification with HMAC-SHA256 signature. FlipDepix sends events like deposit.confirmed.
- Idempotency-Key
- Required header on API POSTs to prevent duplicate charges on retries.
- Financial privacy
- Balance control via self-custody + on-chain CT. Not full anonymity — PIX requires regulatory identification.
